So i am able to get tons of these relays but they dont come like a standard relay with the 87 83 86 etc... So i was wonder if some of you guys would be abale to look at these relays and be able to tell which post may be what... One seems to be like a spdt relay and the other like an spst relay. Just wondering what post could be what.

You can easily determine that with an Ohm meter or DMM. Problem is, without some kind of cover to keep out the elements, they're not particularly useful for automotive use. These look like they were designed for use within a sealed environment of some kind.

Glad you were the one to respond, was hoping you would help. Well yeah they do have covers i just took them off to show the insides to better help out anyone that could help. If using a dmm i would just check for continuity? How would i do it with a dmm?

they look to be normal relays? just different configuration. the one with 5 pins has the constant power out. DMM to check continuity.

So i did a quick search on how to check a relay but i am getting things that say i need to check with a 12volt source also. Some are also telling me about the pin number 86 87 30 etc.. I know how to wire relays by using the number configurations but the thing is i don't have any numbers on the relays and there wasn't any numbers on the covers either. Any ideas?

edit: i could guess and say that the two silver prongs are going to be the pos or remote, they are tied in with the copper spool and also a resistor. The copper prongs i would guess be the ground or the switch.

if you can see in relay, use this diagram and you can figure it out. on 5 pin one i would guess and say that the middle pin is constant power pin 87a. (edit: dont know why i put 28a ahaha)

or you can just hook up up with low power and amperage to see what works. you wont break it

The leads that go to the coil will be your 12+ and - input wires

The pins that go to the contacts are your switch wires. Meaning whatever you want to control.

Looks like a simple layout.

The 3 together would be the 87,87and 30

The 2 up top are prob 85,86

Thanks for the help... i figured out, with a little messing around, what is power ground and how the relay will work... I did not get a chance to mess with a switch yet but i will. Also how would i be able to tell if its a 20a 30a or even a lower amp relay?
