252chevyboyz
Hey whats up eveyone I ordered a SA-8 v1.5 last week and I have now found some time to start disassembling it and getting it ready to recone. I will order the recone sometime this week when I get some extra funds. Anyway I have removed the cone off the woofer and now I am trying to remove the spiders. However there is a thick layer of glue over the spider and the screws holding the spider landing in? I think that is what it called. Someone please correct me on that cause I would also like to know the name of it. Here is what I am talking about and does anyone know how I can remove these screws so I can remove the spider and coil? Thank you for any help, -James Edited October 7, 2012 by 252chevyboyz 1 Quote - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log

TheBetterMethod
Does that sub have a spacer that is held in by those screws? I'd try a hot soldering iron to see if softens the glue. 252chevyboyz
@TBM: appreciate the idea. Are you talking about the little handheld soldering iron that you hold like a pen and use for computer work? Only thing it is all the way around the whole spider. I believe the screws hold down a ring that goes around the outer edge of the spider the hold it down. I cant get the spider completely out without removing all the glue.
