cmegorm250
Just wonder how many amps will be draining my electrical on .5 ohms vs 1ohm. I had no problems running 1ohm on my fairly weak electrical. My amp never got Hott, warm yes.

Lbox88
A few people have mentioned before if you're planning to run at 0.5 vs 1, assume at least double the current draw. Quote UBL | Build Log
cmegorm250
Audioque 1200d with just 1 yellow top and a 110amp alt. I planed on getting xs battery and a better alt down the road. I should be okay if I have it at normal listening and a couple full tilt demos until I get my electrical beefed up? k3n12ock
I know people who've had issues running the 1200 at half ohm. Plus, not sure how you can wire your subs from1 ohm to half ohm anyways.. It's iether 0.25/1/4 or 0.5/2/8 1 Quote 05 xB - (2) EVIL 18s - (2) BC3500s - NO WALL Channel 1: http://www.youtube.com/k3n12ock Channel 2: http://www.youtube.com/MrK3n12ock2
cmegorm250
My system did just fine at 1ohm. Never had an issue. Now I was just wondering how much more current .5 would be and what about box raise? Sorry if this is 100th thread but it is a forum and I don't think its hurting anyone to answering this the 100th time. I'm a noob that is looking for knowledge from my fellow bassheads. SnowDrifter
Here's how this works around here... I run .5 daily but will tell everyone else not to do it. Why? Because I, and everyone else who runs that knows there is a risk of blowing something and if it happens, we don't get pissed because we took a gamble and lost. But when someone else asks, we all say NO because there is a chance it can fail on you. We don't want to tell you to do something that can and will screw up you equipment. Here's my advice Do you want a reliable daily system? Yes - Wire to 1 and your amp will thank you No - Wire to .5, then enjoy the possibility of blowing the amp as well as a shit ton of draw on your electrical for not much gain Just remember... It wasn't all too long ago that wiring to 1 ohm was a new and scary thing 5 Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
