Nice job cleanin up all the wire! Also, I put some screws and aluminum spacers in the box with the amp. If you build a wood "floor" to mount the amp to, you could use those screws and spacers to get a really good amount of airflow all around the amp. Lookin forward to the video! By the way, what do you have it wired to with the 8?

thanks! now it's not such an eye sore and about to short out. :bigok: and i saw that in the bag! im probably gonna use those if i can figure out how i want to mount the amp :P

and the kicker is a 4ohm single voice coil. i had the gain about 3/4 turned up....i new i was pushing the boundaries :slayer: just couldn't help it with actually having power again.

I think you have a bit of truck stuck in your mud bro

alright video's finally up!

first off sorry for the really annoying mic and hardly being able to see anything. i wouldn't have uploaded it if i didn't almost blow the little guy.

looks a lot more impressive in the daylight.

I smell coil over here...lol :)

haha i got a pretty good wiff of it as i opened the door. but luckily it still works. and i got to say now that im sending it clean good power im actually surprised what the little 8" does. it's only like 150rms or something and you can feel the bass some.

anyways! it's the weekend!!! which means i finally have time to work on stuff!!!

so i actually have box progress! (finally)

but first here's a couple pictures of fixing the polk bass knob that came with the amp.

WP_001959.jpg

there was a short in the cord somewhere and the variable resistor solders needed to be redone. so all said and done this is how much i had to cut out.

WP_001961.jpg

anyways, onto the box progress!!

WP_001964.jpg

my little brother doesn't seem to have the energy at 2am lol two walls on!

WP_001965.jpg

put together the middle wall a little bit and trying to get it to dry strait.

WP_001968.jpg

now with the right wall i guess i accidentally cut it a little short so i made the gap in the corner where there was a 45 so it'd be sealed off.

anyways i made a little insert thing to help with the gap. just trying to show you guys everything, even the ugly spots :P

WP_001967.jpg

WP_001966.jpg

got the back 45's in!

WP_001970.jpg

and this is where i got last night. the inner wall isn't secure at all yet.

WP_001969.jpg

anyways, just wanted to post this before i went out and got more work done on it!

well hopefully this will look even better!

finally got a substantial amount of work done on the box today!!

so with out further or do, on to the pics!

got the inner wall in place.

WP_001972.jpg

so the next piece to go on was the double baffle so i decided to have some fun and "mock" up the box by putting the top on.

WP_001973.jpg

screw holes drilled and ready to go.

WP_001974.jpg

baffle in and inner wall 45 in.

WP_001975.jpg

last wall in place!

WP_001977.jpg

now everything is glued/screwed in! :twirl: (except the top of course)

WP_001978.jpg

im always unsure about the this when im designing but here's the clearance of the magnet to the 45 behind the sub.

WP_001982.jpg

and just a fun shot from the first bend.

WP_001981.jpg

anyways,

now to start work on the bends! i cut out a nice 7" radius bend on some sheet metal to use to help shape and it's time to bring in the beloved body filler!

WP_001983.jpg

first coat to go on

WP_001984.jpg

smoothed out and curing

WP_001985.jpg

another bend getting done

WP_001986.jpg

and sanding the first bend's that were done and getting them ready for a second coat.

WP_001988.jpg

alright, the first coat on the bends is done

WP_001989.jpg

got some sanding on the other bends done some but here is where the box rest's tonight.

WP_001991.jpg

picture of the first coat and how much better the bends look!

WP_001992.jpg

so anyways tomorrow im gonna finish sanding the corners and then get the second coat on there and it should be pretty much a perfectly round bend!

it's pretty exciting to see it start to come to shape. thought the box is getting pretty heavy :P

still need suggestions on a color scheme!!!!

black/grey/green outside is kind of my truck

so black with dark green port?

flat black or glossy?

any input would be awesome!

Holy crap! Those bends look pretty flawless!

As for color, I think Gloss black with a Glossy Forest Green Port would look pretty sick. Watch out with the glossy paint though. It can get scuffed up pretty easily...
