Impressive numbers from the trunk. That is a great box.

I just got done looking at your build log haha. Weird timing!!

Do you have any measurements from the opening of your trunk before you put that IB plate in there? Like what size box would fit between the fender wells and under the rear deck?

We are looking for a project car. Looked at a malibu but I forget what year it was lol.

The numbers are from the strut towers: 38"wide 19" from the front to the rear of the rear deck long and 19" of height under the rear deck but the opening itself is at the backseats is only 16" high.

Thank you for that information. I forget what year I measured and got 42" wide. It must have been the generation newer than yours possibly.

This is cool, I didn't know you were on SMD forum, I liked your vid on Youtube, but could never learn more about the system till now. Thanks for the post! btw, how do you post builds anyway, I've tried, but it doesn't work for me.

Yeah once in awhile. Man so much has happened since I last updated this build log.

Here's a quick rundown:

First I swapped out the 12W7's for 2 13W7's and an AQ3500. This was loud, I think we were seeing high 52's sealed on glass.

But one of them lost a coil like 2 weeks before finals so I swapped them out for 2 DC XL15's. Eventually a 2nd AQ3500 was added as well as a XS XP3000 in the trunk.

This is what I took to finals and I did very well taking 1st in all 3 classes I entered. Here are my scores:

dB Drag Street Trunk (4000 watts) 153.9 clamped at 3200 watts

MECA Trunk 1 152.8

MECA Park & Pound 130.6

Here's a pic of the subs
