CJ18
Ground Zero Plutonium GZPW 18SPL is rated at10k Soundstream X3-182 at 7k You need to read closer. Quote from the Ground Zero sub. “Made in Japan” high-power voice coils on black-alu former can handle up to 10000 Watt Up to generally means short burst, aka, burps. Dont know anything about the sub itself other than what I can read. Has a 4" coil, probably realistically 5kw rms.
Captain Stupid
CJ, I saw the level 6 DC, but didn't list them because the RMS listed is 4500. I know there are guys hitting them with a lot more, but I'm the kind of guy who DOESN'T want to recone his subs occasionally. Let's say I drive around listening to them with my gains turned waaaaaay down to around 1 or 2, but at shows I burp them and demo them at a gain level set by the DD-1. If I NEVER wanted to recone my subs, what would be a safe level of clean power to push these subs with in a 5.3 cu ft enclosure tuned to 35 hz? 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
Captain Stupid
DD's website doesn't give much for straight answers on the specs of the Z. Does anyone know where their true specs can be found? Heard they are good for 10,000+, but would be nice to see that and other spec in print online somewhere. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
CJ18
Im putting 2 9ks at 16.8v on 4 custom Level 6 15s. Have the potential for 24kw and I have every bit of confidence in them.
CJ18
I would put a 7.5k on 1 Level 6 without thinking twice about it. It has been done with great results. Look up chode69, he has a pair of Level 6 18s on a 12k.
taylorpro
it's really simple. cut sub size and get two subs. bam. cheaper options. more reliable. likely would better in just about every way imaginable. no point in sending that much power to a single sub. it really starts to get pointless If you have space for one 18, you likely have space for 2 15's. Get 2 15's. more cone, more coil, more motor force, cheaper more than likely, and more awesomer. 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123

Not necessarily cheap, 2 subs that will handle 3k+ each will cost more than 1 sub that will handle 6k. two quality subs that are rated at ~2k (being realistic about the power you're making here....) will more than likely be similar if not cheaper than one big ass 4" coil sub. ESPECIALLY DD.lol. Other than that though, I really don't see how my point could be argued. If the OP has the space, 2 15s is a better option 1999 Ford ExplorerTeam Sundown Audio4th 2012 Db Drag WF Street Stock 150.8dbYoutube Channel!http://www.youtube.com/user/BoomyurblownOperation 156 No wall Build Log!http://www.stevemead...x/#entry2196123

It fits my truck perfectly and I plan to keep it until I blow it apart with power! It would fit two 15s with an adapter ring just fine, but what would be the point? A 15 that handles 6k+ would cost nearly the same as an 18 that does 6k. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
