Ok...here we have my mat.....this is how I work it on all my projects..

is it the way you do it?????probably not....

is it the right way......no

is it the wrong way.....no

there is no right or wrong way to do this stuff.....you do it however it works for you...

I have 3 piles here...

Bottom left pile has 2 torn edges.....and 2 straight edges

Top left pile has 3 torn edges .....and 1 straight edge

Big pile on the right...........has all edges torn....

Posted Image

The corner pieces....with 2 straight edges...... are for any corners...

Posted Image

The pieces with one straight edge.....are for following my edges...

Posted Image

And the big pile of pieces...with all edges torn, they are for building up the field.....(anywhere in the middle)

Because its been Below Zero....for the last week....Ive been working small sections...at a time.......And keeping three 500 watt Halogen lamps on my project....I keep the lights on my area Ill be glassing......for an hour, prior to layup, this warms op the surface to be glassed...

Posted Image

and I bring my resin...in the house at night....so it dont get super cold..super thick....and impossible to work with...

Posted Image

wet out the area....lay down 4 layers of 1 oz.....and let it bake..

GROOOSSSSSSS!

you sir are one determined MOFO.

The REST....

Friggin sick.

This kit is lookin bad as hell.

I'm guessin ur gonna tie the two rear chunks together in the middle over that seam and just have them "meet there" in a higher built "mound" or "outward seam" to cover the split and jooin em permenently.

Man Ever since I saw the box in there for the 6-15's I been wanting to "try out" the "tear apart the chop mat and then wet it out" method.

I just started making a mould for the center cap for one of my old wheels that the wheel shop guys broke... and I was AMAZED how much strength this method adds compared to just laying straight mat.

WOW, I'm sold/hooked on that-I tore up a whole bunch of choppmatt and bagged it for the next project.

I'mma post it once it's worthy but man I'm even ITCHIER now to build a strong ass sub box for somebody...I just need cars to work on :(

Keep it up man, that Kit is lookin P-I-M-P.
