Most of my amplifiers and headunits I have bought as used to save money. Car is -91 Toyota with basic 16 valve 4AFE engine.When I got the car it wass fully stock. I´ve been competing in bass race for 3 seasons and this car has seen lots of different boxes. At the moment I´m building just for fun, not thinking about competing.So here is few pics what I have done to it.Upgraded stock battery to Optima.Some silent coat there. 5,25" mids on doors, Pioneer headunit. Steering wheel changed from ugly stock to Nardi.One of old setups. 15" Ground Zero Nuclear and Spl Dynamics 1500D.Then I bought these reconed 12" Ground Zero Nuclear SPL´s. D1 coils.Planning box for them. Using 6" aeroport...Fiberglassing for getting more volume. New amplifier Focus Acoustics FX-1500D and moving the battery to trunk. Amplifier and battery connected. Ready setup. Then I wanted to reach higher scores. So small port upgrade. Tuned to 39hz for bassrace. And added third sub. Got also amplifier for front spekers. Always broke the hinges of trunk in competitions and it didn´t sound good with music. Going to shoot forward. Maybe enough volume for 2 12"s and 8" aeroport. Tuned to 30hz. Box going in. Had issues with getting the box in to car. LOL. And there. Notice the yellow pipe holding trunk open. Next some sealing... In this picture you can see the difference of old and new tweeter. Running wires to front doors. Sub amplifier changed to SPL Dynamics EXT 2000. One ohm load. Planning of fiberglass pods for Selenium tweeters. ...and also for a rack for amplifiers. Cleaning the trunk. Another 0 gauge from front to the back for battery. Installed fuses. Amp rack. Test fitting... Door panels of... For these. SP Audio 6,5 mids from Italy. This was very tight... Door closes just without any extra space between wooden rings and seat. First layer of paint. Then I had problem. I didn´t want to paint it with boring black... ...so I decided to sticker bomb it. I have also sticker bombed rear mirror and front lip of the bumper. It was something 3AM when I got installing ready. Next morning was a competition and I wanted it to be ready. MaSa Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 13, 2012 Now, before winter I bought these Ground Zero Nuclear subs. D2 coils. I had the 15" version. Changed the tuning to 26 hz lol. Slamming pretty hard the lows. And also bought this amplifier one and half month ago. Focus Acoustics FX4500D. Going on Half ohm. And Now I have 2 Optima batteries in trunk. This thing turned up being a real beast. Coils getting warm pretty quick and now I got a problem with broken spider or tinsel. Making bad noise. Now I have plans to build 4x10" bandpass setup. I get more coils so I get rid of the heat problem and also i get more cone area. I´ll update more when holidays are coming and I´m having more time for building.
