CNF Kevosinn
How low can voltage drop until your going to hurt a 12 volt amp like my crescendo 3500? I don't drop below 14 with my set up right now but I'm planning to add a second and was wondering about this. *** SuperSeller Status Verified *** ( http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers/ ) "kevosinn's" astro van 8 custom Sundown Zv4 18's 4 Sundown scv 6000's CNF Distribution CNC parts Skyhigh wire some batteries SMD Meters and tools used on the installhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172877-kevosinns-vanwest-coast-skyhigh-car-audio-vehicle/ 16,000 watt walled silverado build.http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161965-walled-silverado-4-hdc4-15s-4-crescendo-3500s-and-much-more/ 8,000 watt 1999 Subaru legacy outback. TRTC360
If you're running quality equipment you shouldn't have issues playing down into the low 12's, I personally won't let my voltage get below 12 especially if you'red wired below 1 ohm, but i've seen some people play down to 9-10v constantly and their amps are still fine ( 2 SK4500.1s) I let my DC 3.5k go down to low on the stinger volt meter ONCE and the amp never protected, my highs amp protected though. SnowDrifter
I've always wondered about this too. Never been able to find a good explanation as to why it is harmful, but it seems like 12.4v is what everyone says ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
ThreehundredC
When I play with the car off after about an hr it will drop to 11.9. And I start it back up. Never tested it to the point of damage on kicker amps
Kranny
everyone is a little bit different, but if i see low 12's, i'm turning the volume down.
reelfish92
I know the Skar amps can play in the 10s. I've seen it on 2 big set ups, no amp issues. I know it sounds horrible one didn't have batt power, other had horrible wiring let's say (it was lol). Those amps go in protect @ 9 volts if I remember correctly. With me, if I see a 12.9 I freak out lol. I can usually go full tilt on my .5 stable amp without going below 14.0 v. Swordlordboy1234
My skar 2500 played full tilt 10.4-11.1 depending on the note before I changed my alternator. Once went to 9.8 before I turned it down. With a bad ass front AGM battery and two agm's as my bank with a 200 amp Tenney, I never see below 13.6 now full tilt after 20 mins. I call good quality product saved my ass till I got the alt installed, I bet some cheaper stuff woulda fried My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... mrd6
I had a Hifonics titan 1508d that could keep cold playing down to 10 volts lol no idea how or why but that amp was indestructible My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Nikitaaa
I would think that if an 10-11 volt voltage was so harmful for an amp, companies would make the protection circuits kick in higher.. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw
