Can two 15' ZVX subs really handle a Skar 4500.1 at 1 ohm? RMS at 1 ohm from the 4500.1 is 4900 rms, then if i divide it by 2 it comes out to be 2450 watts per sub. Can two ZVX's really handle that? Or is the rms going to be less than that due to something like box rise or impedance rise or some other factor?

Box rise will definitely come into play, but you're still realistically going to be looking at a good deal over rated power to your ZVX's. They're rather beefy woofers; as long as you set your gain properly to avoid a clipped signal and have an enclosure that's a little on the smaller side to help the subs take the power, you'll be just fine.

Well, here's the dimensions for the box. 40" wide x 18" tall x 28" deep designed by Ram-Designs. Do you think that this will be good for the subs? Unfortunately I have to tune by ear as I do not have a DD-1 or CC-1 and there's almost no one around where I live that has one according to the tools map.

Do not tune by ear, or you will really risk blowing them. If you have a DMM availible, you can use that to tune the amp to a certain output wattage, which when I used to do that, I would tune it lower than what it said just to be safe. Steve himself threw that sub on a T2500bdCP, nominal ohm rating I do not know, but it took it full power free air no problem.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

What's the net volume and tuning? I give mad respect to RAM, because his designs are always on-point, but I just want to make sure you'll be fine with overpowering them. Avoid tuning by ear. I'd listen to RooTxBeeR on this one.

Is free air different from being in a box though? Like would it able to make a woofer that's not in a box be able to play at a higher rms rating rather than a woofer that's inside of a box? I don't have access to anything, not a DD-1, CC-1, Dmm, My local store tunes by ear. All I have where I live is the fantastic "Ear-O-Meter"

The box is going to be 7.1ft^3 tuned to 30hz via a 15.75"x6" port. I like RAM he seems nice. :D

You'll be fine in that enclosure. RAM's an outstanding guy; he did several designs for me before I got into designing and building my own enclosures, and I've always been satisfied with the outcome.

What "true" rms do you figure that I will be getting? With that box, amp, 3 Deka Intimidator 9A34M AGM Battery with a 250A Singer Alt. Or is it to soon to tell?

I think it is to hard to tell, but correct me if I am wrong someone, wouldnt a 250A alt be a little to small for a 4500W amp?
