Well boys and girls, I am finally posting a build log. After a long, busy winter break, I finally have enough progress to justify posting this. And after a few busy weeks of school, I finally have time to do so. Here's a rundown of what all I have for now. I am currently running a Pioneer MVH-P7300 head unit, an Orion 4004 amp for the mids and highs, which are Planet Audio big bang series components. For the subs, I have 2 Diamond Audio D610D4's powered with a JL G1700 wired at 4 ohms to give me an unfortunately low 350 watts RMS (still gets pretty loud though). Over the break I built the box for it, and once I have a little more extra cash, I plan on upgrading the amp to either an AQ Q1-1200D, or a Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D

UPDATE!

Here are some pictures of the box building, and installation of accent lighting, and the amp.

That's all for now, once I get a job up here in the Metroplex I am gonna carpet the box, and start upgrading the system piece by piece.

A lot of the wiring was there from the previous owner of the truck, and I plan on tearing the whole thing out and doing a ground up rebuild once I have the funds to do so.

Good start bro! Like I said I have carpet if you need it. May have some wire laying around you're welcome to it if you need it.

Thanks dude! I'll keep that in mind for when I'm getting ready to do that. What color was the carpet again?

Thanks guys! I love me some single cab action too. :]

Big - It actually doesn't sound too bad. I was playing around with it the other day, and actually got a little bit of flex out of it. I'll have to get a video of it up here in the next few days. Hopefully tomorrow, but it may have to wait until after the weekend, as I'm gonna be out of town.

Either way, I may end up re-building the box just for more port area (I don't have quite as much as I would like based on the cubic feet of the box), in which case I may end up porting to the side instead of straight up. It still gets down. When I designed the box, WinISD had the graph of the SPL peaking around 34-35 Hz. I don't remember the exact figure. I would be interested to get it on a Term Lab just to see what kind of numbers I'm getting to base it against the projections from WinISD. Shit gets pretty low though.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm slowly accumulating product to gut and rebuild the audio in this truck. Currently I have this product for the rebuild:

-Focal 165 V33 polyglass 3 way components

-KnuKonceptz Kandy Kable (purple) 0/1 and 4 AWG wire

-DC Power 270 amp alternator

I have a few more important things to buy, and then I'll be ready to start working on this thing again. I've been taking another break in working on it for a little while mostly due to lack of free time. It's gonna be a long semester of stockpiling product and not working on the whip since I'm currently working 40+ hours a week on top of taking 12 hours at college.

Since my last post I have rebuilt the box (again) this time it has more port area, and includes an amp rack. I also got my Orion HCCA D2400 amp repaired, so now my subs have the right ammount of power pushing them again. Hopefully I'll find time to go through my pictures and throw some up on here.

Edit: it is the 4.7 L V8.
