SA-8 box for dodge dakota, box question

Hey guys, this is my first post here, and everyone seems to be helpful here and so i thought before i build everything i should ask some people who may know more than me, if everything seems correct.

I have a regular cab Dodge Dakota in which i am going to put in a sundown sa-8, i took measurements, and this box will fit behind my center console and behind the seats, It's just when designing i read how both ports must be the same length as written in the program, and as i believe this, i just want to make sure everything seems like it'll work before going further into this project. Sundown recommends 0.5-0.75 cu ft box tuned to 35hz, and i believe this should do. The port on the left side is the same dimensions as the one most visable.

Thanks for your input!

Sorry that the picture is a little small.

Doesnt seem like enough port area to me .. also I could be wrong but I beleive with that setup your doubling the listed port area and therefor I would think the tuning would be altered ... try using torres to combined the ports (basically double the hight and width ) and see what you port area and tuning comes too as im thinking that the program doesnt know that you have 2 different ports ... I mean I could be wrong im just guessing off of logic lol

Hey, thanks, i did what you said(doubled the height and width) and the tuning changes to around 67hz, its just when i was reading in the box calculator help, it says,

"8 - When using multiple ports, whether they be round or rectangular ports, the port length MUST be the same for each

port. The port length does **NOT** get divided among the ports. This will affect your net volume and severely
raise your tuning."
so thats what i was going off of, but it still seems a little weird, thats why i figured i'd post this and ask.
ill keep looking into it, but thanks!

Yea I mean either was can make sense .. maybe someone with more experience on that can chime in and help more .. but have you thought about using aero ports? Not sure what that sub calls for port wise but a pair of aeros could possibly make things eaiser on torres since it has a box for counting multiple aeros ... just a thought .. wish I could be of more help ... you may wanna put a 2 in the number of ports box with your current design and see if it counts for rectangular ports aswell :-)

.50 cbft behind passenger seat should work bro. if you have atleast 71/2 inches for sub to fit facing forward and an external port you should be more than ok instean of the box you are trying to attempt.

i've never actually dealt with aero ports, but its def. an option i can keep open, and if i put in a number of ports, it automatically assumes you are using an aero port and disreguards the square port dimentions -.-' but yeah, i was hoping that would work too, but it doesn't. imma try to see how this works, who knows, maybe ill just skip one of the ports(and keep the other side sealed of course) because, then what the program says should be correct reguardless. who knows. just gotta learn more and really look stuff over. haha. But thanks! i really appreciate it!

i have roughly 7 inches at the bottom of the seat and the trucks seats are ungodly comfortable upright and so i only have like 2 and a half inches up a foot, i measured it a while back and i cant remember off the top of my head, but its a little old dakota, ya know? not the most spacious thing in the world. i have two individual seats though, so i was hoping to put the sub in the middle, the box that i designed will fit right there between them. i do have a 10" mb quart there now, but i just wanna go for something different. it's time to upgrade.

if its a split seat make the box 8 at the bottom and taper up to 3 or 4 inches at top and you can still put it in the middle with just a 4 in aero ported externally tp passenger side instead of trying to make to ports. or just build one big port fired to passenger side
