CW06Silvy
Alright guys, I am looking for some kind of fixed tensioner setup to convert my 2006 silverado with the 5.3L engine to. Reason is that I have installed a triple alt bracket and 2 h.o. alts and just replaced the tensioner, but it still slips with little load on the alternators. If I press the gas and have someone watch the automatic tensioner they can see the tensioner lose ground as the engine speeds up. I know its a long-shot and its alot of belt to tighten but just wondering if anybody knew of something.. thanks 2006 Silverado Ext. Idk maybe im just being picky about it, but I thought id ask if there was a fixed pulley setup out there anyone knew of. 2006 Silverado Ext. sully
Contact Magnusun, I got a HD tensioner fromt them for my supercharger. With the HO alt and the drag from the charger I have at least as much if not more stress on the belt and I have no slippage with this tensioner. http://www.magnacharger.com/ 805.642.8833 I deal directly with David Gonzales, you can look him up in the company directory when you call. He is a good guy and will shoot you straight. There are also manual tensioners if you search for supercharger tensioners but I like the HD tensioner, if you want I can take a pic later and post it. You can always throw an 8 or 10 rip pulley setup on there and you will have zero belt slip with those but you will be into it for about a grand. This is a writeup on one similar to the one I use: http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/forced-induction-159/my-billet-hd-tensioner-486308/ 2003 Ford F-150 Reg Cab layin body on 26's 2003 Tahoe 3/5 drop on 26's with a 408cid Supercharged engine. 2011 Camaro 2SS 2005 VW GTI Stage II ECU, CAI, 3" turbo back exhaust, FMIC, lowered 2" on some plastidipped 18's 2003 Hayabusa lowered, stretched, cams, nitrous and custom paint
