DubNDodge
On the critical note, abit uncoherent level of ambition between the really well done sleeved power cable and the quite rough door-inlays... On the postive note, a nicely organized and informative thread! Keep it up ! Ha, I don't like how all that metal looks either, but no one will see that anyways while the wire will be seen. I did end up spray painting the raw metal so it does look a bit better, but still rough. I just got tired of all the stress from cutting the door up. I was just glad that it was over with. Thanks for the constructive criticism '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult. DubNDodge
Welp got a good amount done today. Nothing is screwed or glued, just set everything up so I could make sure that everything was at a right angle. After that I screwed everything together except for the ports and the front baffles. I then started stripping everything out to see if the box would fit into the trunk through the cab. At this point I realized that I am going to be bassless for awhile Seats out Everything else out. I was using that board to measure to see if a D3100 would clear once I build a rack for it. It'll clear but it will be on its side. Will be ordering the D3100 on monday. Faaak. Box didn't fit with the lid on. Unscrewed the lid, and the box wouldn't fit through because of these two tabs. I cut equal off both sides. I didn't take pictures after the cut, but it can be seen in some other pictures. She fits :) I started working on the beauty panels that will help seal off the trunk. I had about 2-3" over hang on the back of the beauty panel. I will put some wood glue on that over hang and then screw it to the side of the box from inside the box. Did the same on the other side. Give you a rough idea of what it's gonna look like Might be working on a few different things tomorrow. Installing all the new wires for the system(Big3, Power going back, New RCA's, new remote wire, volt meter) Making the battery rack where the spare tire used to be. Taking out rear by9s and sealing that off with mdf and foam. I might glue up the box depending how warm it gets. On the Titebond II bottle it said use in 55 degrees and higher, so I didn't bother gluing. Unless the temperature doesn't actually matter. Pro7
That looks really good, I like how you brought it forward at the bottom. I was thinking about just trying to seal mine around the edges but bringing it forward sounds like an easier way to do it I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before
 222 1.2k

DubNDodge
are you gonna put deadener on the rear deck ? or you have some other idea of sealing it off ? Yeah I will be putting deadener on the rear deck, like on top. Will be using great stuff on all the misc holes on the deck. For the by9s I'm using some mdf cutouts and some cool foam rod stuff. I will also be using that foam rod where my beauty/seal off panels touch the metal. Once that is done the only gap left is at the bottom of the beauty panels. I will run my wires there and then great stuff to seal it off. That's the game plan at least. DubNDodge
Well nothing went as I planned lol. Was gonna install the big 3 and not work on the box. Did the complete opposite. Heated up the portion of the garage that is insulated and brought the saw horse down from the wood shop. Ended up gluing and screwing the box, except the top. Really proud of how everything glued together. Everything is basically dried once I got done doing the next part. Ahhh Mess! Well I took out the old remote wire and soldered in the remote that will go back to the amp and to the volt meter. Then soldered the pos and neg lines to the volt meter that went go back to the amp. (They were the same size as the remote wire.) I then used some 3M double sized trim tape to mount the volt meter infront of my cluster. (Forgot to take pic, but you can see it somewhat in the top of the next picture) Here's the hole the 1/0 is going through. (view from inside) Running the 1/0 through the factory gromment. Got it through and snapped back in place. Wasn't too hard to run it back, until I got to the B-pillar (I believe that's the right one). Then there was a bump in the chasis and then I had to go underneath the seat belt bolt. That wasn't coming off, but I decided to screw with it a bit, and still got no where. I was getting pretty pissed at this point and kept pushing on the carpet from the back side and then it ended up ripping around that bolt, which actually worked out pretty well. Didn't even realize my hand got gashed when I was trying to get everything ran. I wondered why there was red stuff on some of the wires Here's what it tooks like now that I got the wires covered up. Ha the carpet was bulging from where the 1/0 was. Wooo! everything finally ran back. I ran the 2 speaker wires, 1/0, the remote, pos and neg vm wires back on this side. DubNDodge
So with little time today after school, I decided to clean everything that has been untouched for 12 years. Tada Got the wires cleaned up a bit. Those black ones are a PITA, they have a memory from being on the spool. Here's my VM that I forgot to take a picture of yesterday. DubNDodge
Thanks I was gonna put it at the center between rpm and speed, but I wasn't able to completely see it. Lucky it doesn't cover anything, that little circle thing behind it is for ABS brakes I believe; which I don't have.
