79 cutty
i always thou you had to patent something before it came out for sale or some 1 can steal it No, for sellers protection you file your patent prior to selling to put it into patent pending status, can take up to 3 or 4 yrs for the patent to actually be approved. The US is terribly slow at approving them because tgey have such a massive backlog of applications! Congrats! I know it was pumped when mine were granted! I do R&D for General Mills, I work with some people who have 30 or more patents and trade secrets. My Australian patent was filed and granted in less then 6 months, and I have 4 other pending patents in the US that are going on 3 years pending! Lol It's a cool ass feeling getting that first one for sure!! Edited February 25, 2013 by 79 cutty 1 Quote Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! TonyD'Amore
Note on reading patents on the USPTO site. You must use IE as your browser (I hate it too), and you must have a .tiff viewer installed to see the images and drawings. I use this one http://www.alternatiff.com/
