NO SHIT, I GET IT, I gave you stuff to check and do and you will have a resolution, trust me I know this SHIT!!!!! LMAO

I will check it tomorrow exactly as you suggested. Thanks for the help. I know all the connections are good because I just put in my new Shok Competition 0-ga today. But I will go over ever connection, every ground, every everything tomorrow with a fine-toothed comb before calling DC on Monday.

It could be as simple as one nut/bolt that just isnt quite tight and is wiggling. It is usually something simple that you thought you did and just overlook.

yea just because you looked a few times doens't mean the loose connection isn't there....it took my dumb self about 6 to 8 times going through my old tahoe before i found my loose connection. when you think you've checked enough, check again lol

You were having this exact problem.

350a alt with 3 XP3000s running a DC 5k at .5 ohm. Major voltage drop for no reason. Solution was as simple as 1 loose wire.

I agree, but I have gone over it several times, both recently and months ago. Never hurts to go over everything again, and I will, but my setup is super-simple. Not like there is a lot of connections to get loose. About the only way I could make connections better would be to solder them. All grounds are to the frame, with the frame freshly tapped and sanded down to a bare metal connection.

BTW, I drag race a very fast street car and built it all myself. I usually don't leave loose connections or untightened bolts and everything is triple-quadruple checked. Missing something simple on an 8-9 second street car can get a guy killed.

Connection could all be solid, but seeing as tomorrow is Sunday and you couldnt get through to DC POwer until Monday anyways, those are the next logical thing to check.

Bad equipment is always a possibility, I have gotten a DOA alt, and had a d3100 go bad on me as well, shit breaks. BUT you also want to make sure you have checked everything on your end before you go and pull the alt and or battery and have to pay shipping to send it in to be checked out.

One thing I would like to see you try, is un hook the battery from the alternator and try and run the amp on the battery alone. Start off at half volume and see what it does. If the d3100 cannot support a RF2500 at half volume, then the issue may be the battery itself.

Granted it needs to be load tested but considering it has been sitting for 4 hours and has excellent resting voltage I would say the battery is fine.
