Captain Stupid
And if the battery is bad it could've also brought the alt down with it. And vise-versa as well. Sucks. It's acted like this since the alt and battery were new. Both were purchased and installed at the same time. I just never bothered to figure out why I was having the problem because the main amp power wire was shitty undersize CCA 0ga, and I figured that was the issue. Now today, after finally replacing every bit of CCA with the huge Shok Competition OFC, I know that is not the issue. Sure, I could make a second run of 0ga to the amp, but that probably isn't going to help this issue much, if at all. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
Captain Stupid
Also what does the battery rest at truck off after sitting for like 5-6 hours? I just went out and checked. It is at 12.9 volts. Truck has been sitting for just over 4 hours. Granted it needs to be load tested but considering it has been sitting for 4 hours and has excellent resting voltage I would say the battery is fine. I'll check again in the morning also, before I start it up, and report back. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Captain Stupid
Do you have a load tester at your place? If not take it over to your local oreilly's/autozone/kragen No, I don't. Should I ask them to test it with stereo going full tilt, or will the load tester be capable of testing up to 270a without anything on? 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
C-Fizzy
I doubt they'll be able to load test up to 270 amps. But ask them to load test it down as high as possible under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy? C-Fizzy
They should be able to test your alternator as well, but you need to have it off the truck for them to do it under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy? Captain Stupid
Have you tried playing your system with the truck off to see if it still goes into protect?? I finally had the chance to take the truck to a secluded spot and sit there with the engine off and the bass all the way up. Damn thing never went into protect, not even once, played for three minutes straight. I didn't want to take the chance of killing the battery and getting stranded with no back-up plan, so I gave up after one complete song. So, I suppose that means its something in the electronics then? Is that what that means? It will go into protect after just a few seconds while the engine is running, but plays off the battery for minutes safely and the truck starts right up like no big deal. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
