USB O'scope

Hell for that price, it might be worth a try just for kicks.

If you don't like it, throw it away...

Technical Parameters:
  • PC connection: USB
  • Operating systems used: W2K, XP (does not work with Windows 7)
  • Signal input: BMC connection with universal oscillograph probe
  • Max sampling: 8kHz x 1/ (4kHz x 2)
  • Voltage: 5V USB port supply
  • Current: 60mA
  • Measurable frequency: 0Hz -----3kHz
  • DIV array: horizontal 16DIV x vertical 10DIV
  • Input impedance: 1MΩ
  • Max voltage: 0---5V
Sample rate is very low (8kHz max) and it results in a limited frequency range that you could measure (0-3kHz).
Max input voltage is 0-5V.
Might be OK for looking at the RCA outputs of a HU, but it wouldn't have much resolution to show you good signal quality.
Also doesn't show you what GUI (graphic user interface) it has. that's a big part of useful an o-scope is.
I would pass it up based on the specs, BUT for that price....

open source, I have never read much on them though. I just know its popular and theres even other firmwares for them, etc. (have heard stock firmware sucks)

Wicks I was thinking the same thing till somebody pointed out that it doesnt work with windows 7. Ill look into some others and see what I come up with. I have access to a TPI 440 o'scope. Was planning on using that as a base line to compare the rest of them.

Yep, I saw that and was going to throw that in my comment but forgot.

Definitely a negative when it won't support current OS's.

Probly why is so cheap....

t probably supports Windows 7, most people selling hardware through ebay put that so when u tell them you have a problem and tell them you have Windows 7 (since almost everyone has w7) they won't warranty/help you.

This has been the case with a lot of pci usb connectors and other items I have bought, they always work on Windows 7, but always state they won't.
