If i was to disconnect it it would go into limp mode and charge at 13.5v. Its actually a good thing because batts under the hood in high temp do not like being charged that high.. The stock alternator is 3G based, and is therefore not compatible with the AVBM II. However, if you buy a mechman alternator for the vehicle, we convert to the superior 6G design, which IS compatible with the AVBM II.
