As-21
i noticed today that my sub making a rattling sound and hit noise when i crack the volume up. i didn't touched the gain for a while and the noises come when i am on high volume. it wast like this before i must say. so i took the sub from the box to see i i can hear from where this noise is coming. didn't hear nothing special i noticed that one of the leads is kinda touching the cone and there is leads marks on the cone. when i play the sub all volume up on free air i don't hear hitting sound only low rattling sound when i put it back i can hear something hitting or hitting sound and rattling on a bit low volume. Ive also checked the cooling hole on the bottom if there is a FOD in it didn't find nothing and the sub looks aligned. what can it be ? is it possible the spider lost there stiffness and i am hitting now the XMAS ? Or is it the box fault ? too much port area ? or the port area is too little ? fox_racin4
If the noise gets worse in the box, could be a broken box, or a loose dustcap ( more backpressure on cap while in the box) Quote 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole

As-21
this is a video you can hear what i am talking about: the buzzing sound isn't from a bad recording that what i hear when the subs operates http://youtu.be/IcCz63rBEpI also i noticed that the cone and spider connecting place on one side of the sub is dry or failed apart could it be the reason ? here is a picture of the dry side: and here the other side for compression: this picture is for the leads mark couldn't get clear picture off it. As-21
i installed the sub inverted and played again on the area that i hear the noise the loudest i can see a straight Square shaped of gray paint on the voice coil i couldn't take a picture off it because i can see it only when i play a track. it is where one of the leads going to the coil not the same lead as before its different lead is it out of align ? is it hard to fix that kind of problem ? sbg
I just had the same problem Friday! Had a sound just like that in my sub. Took my sub out and took a look at and didn't see a problem, but I was thinking to my self man this sub has a lot of dust on it, so I blew through the cooling holes and a chip of MDF came out! After that I hooked it back up and it was fine. Don't know if that's your problem but u could try that Quote 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines.
