Remote gain knob question

Recommended Posts

I have 2 SK 1500.1's and I also have 2 remote gain knobs. I am doing 1 amp to each ZVX, How and can I set it up so that 1 knob controls both amps? I'm not strapping them together. I just want to know if I can hook up 1 gain knob to both amps.

If the amps are strappable you can just strap them and run the remote to the master

Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol

Hmm... If you can't/don't want to strap them for whatever reason... Idk for sure if this would work but you could try using a splitter?

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

I would just do what sayhuh said and look at the Pac LC-1's. That's what I have, I never had much luck with those remote knobs.

Yes, what we said lol.

On strapping, he may not be able to depending on impedance. Strapping has to be 2 ohms vs his subs together may not wire to 2 ohm.

I thought when you strapped something it took whatever you wired to and cut the impedance in half anyway ? so if he wired to what would usually be 4 ohm it would end up being 2 ohm ? but hey multiple ppl said the RCA cable remote would work so who am I to disagree lol I just suggested the splitter cuz I figured the RCA remote would work a little differently than the regular amp remote isn't that remote usually either fine gain control or bass boost control depending on the amp? I would think the RCA one would wind up being almost more like a volume knob so I was just offering an alternative in case he wanted to keep the same functionality as the regular remote but just have it work for both amps

wasn't trying to dispute what anyone was saying or say anyone was wrong just offering an alternative that I thought of.

Actually, subs wired a certain way only impacts impedance, not amps. Amps only do what the subs tell them to.

With the knob, No also. The Pac will be better and easier. Basically, as a wise man once said, 'They tie inline with your RCA's and attenuate the signal instead of adjusting amp settings.' Basically, it only adjust the signal that the rca send vs adjust the 'gain' like normal bass knobs do. If that makes sense???
