Hi I just bought Two of these Alpine Subs SWR-12D2

They are going in my 97 F150 Extended cab truck.

I have already taken out the back seat so the box would go there.

What port tuning do ya reccommed?

Also how many cubic feet per chamber after sub and port diplacment?

I listen to rap/ Hip Hop music

Please reply back thanks

Fifth generation Type Rs work in less net volume than previous generations their spec range tops at 1.5 cubes per chamber and that's what I would recommend if you are going to push full rated or above rated power.

Yeah that's what i was reading in the manual. Says anywhere from 1.0-1.5 cu ft net

And port frequency 32Hz-37Hz

What do ya think?

What a coincidence, I'm also building a box for dual 12's Type-R for a friend. Here is what I came up with for it. You might have to tweak the dimensions to fit your vehicle though. You can also do double baffle if you want.

What are the dimension you want for your car? Joe can probably help you with it.

now this is for my car. but that was tuned to 38 hz. tune lower and youll get lowend out of the type r.

but the big boxes made these little subs go

It actually depends on how much power you run to it. Say you have a 500w amp, and you want the most output from a 1000w sub, then you go for max or above the recommended size. If you want to run 1500w to a 1000w sub, you go smaller than recommended size because it gives the sub more cone control.
