lilflippy
It actually depends on how much power you run to it. Say you have a 500w amp, and you want the most output from a 1000w sub, then you go for max or above the recommended size. If you want to run 1500w to a 1000w sub, you go smaller than recommended size because it gives the sub more cone control. Hhm right now im at 1.38 cu ft net after sub after port displacement and tuned to 35Hz.. Just wondering if ill get a little bit more by going to 1.5 cu ft net after port displacement and tuned to 35Hz

Someone here (probably Joe) can whip you up a design easily.

lilflippy
Fifth generation Type Rs work in less net volume than previous generations their spec range tops at 1.5 cubes per chamber and that's what I would recommend if you are going to push full rated or above rated power. @Joe X what port tuning would ya recommend? Joe X
33-34 Hz is the range I'd stay within for low tuned music and in an extcab, subs up/port diver's side if you are wide enough for port clearance.

OK by the way do you make boxes? And yes i have enough room back there.

Joe X
Like this: If you want some calculations done for you let me know your max dims for a box. Subs can also be done front, port can also be done up.
