Meade Inspired Sub Enclosure Build for 12's

Recommended Posts

Hello all, let me first start by introducing my self, My name is J, or Jay, I live in the Detroit area, and have been a huge fan of Steve since about the time his "My eye popped out video" on youtube. What a great video! Anyhow I have been watching for some time now, but don't comment or post much, just sit back and take stuff in. I have been inspired by Steve and some of his followers to build my own system, its not my first system, but I have been out of it for a while and itching to get back in. I am gonna try to attach a image of the build plans for this box and what I am looking for or asking is if anyone knows how this design might perform or if anyone might have any input on it.

Thanks in advance, Jay

Measurements? Subs and amp specs?

Let me get some of these specs, I have to pull the subs out of the box to get the exact specs on them, I know they are PPI tho, and the amp is also a PPI 1000 P1000

What are the port length measurements? Also, have you given the box tuning calculator a try? It's very popular as you may know if you have been reading here a while: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/38791-torres-box-tuning-calculator-updated-818/?hl=%20torres

Yes, I have used the calculator a go, I ended up using the calculator measurements with a little tweaking to get it to my liking. Thanks for the heads up tho on the calculator though 8ight.

Sorry I have not posted back with the specs, as for now my budget is pretty limited and the sub's I have are just some 12" 300W Precision Power, they are not really that good of sub I don't think and more than likely 4 or 5 years old. I went ahead with the box build and only dropped like 30$ for some gorilla glue and the MFD board. Will post some pictures later today after I finish it up.

The best glue to use is titebond 2 or 3 I prefer 2 but either works great! I don't think gorilla glue would work very well IMO. Anyways good luck building! :)

SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .
