K-Swift
I am trying to to the big three upgrade, but on a 2004 Ford Escape the alternator is under the engine and it is really tough to get to. I am trying to get to the post without having to take too much stuff apart to get to the alternator. If you have an idea or a solution please let me know. The journey is the reward! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2113-kia-sportage/
medley123
Man I wish I could tell you everything we did for mine, but I really don't remember. We had to take off the passenger wheel, unhook the plastic guarding and I think you might be able to get to the post for it. However switching alts on the escape is a whole different story lol. Mine took 5 hours to get out. medley123
It wasn't just the wheel when we switched it out lol. Being able to get to it was fine, but taking it out was a PITA. Had to pull it from the top and use a pair of vice grips to unscrew the bolt that held the alternator on there 2006 Ford EscapeHead Unit: Kenwood KDC 352Subs: (3) 15" DC XL 15s with PSI recones, 1.4 ohm coilsSub amp: DD Audio M4 (Black Version)Door Speakers: (2) Crossfire 10s, (2) Hertz Coax.Mid/highs amp: Rockford Fosgate P500-4 Electrical:XS D3400 under the hood(3) XS XP3000s in the back2 runs of KnuKonceptz OFC 0 Gauge ran to the back (1 pos, 1 neg)Excessive Amperage 300 amp alt (FINALLY!) ham4864
That sounds just like my Cadillac. i had my big three kit ready and it took me like a week under the car trying to figure out how to tackle the job. I thought i had the toughest car in the world to do the big three on. 2009 bmw 5 series Head Unit Stock Amplifier-JL Audio JX 360/4 Processor- Audiocontrol LC6
