Whats The Most Amount Of Power You've Seen Running To A Fi SP4 18?

So I've still got my old Fi SP4 18 sitting in it's box on my floor and I was thinking... What could 6k RMS do to it? Currently in my car I've got a Crescendo BC5500 running a SoundStram XXX 18 (10,000w RMS) and I thought about if the SP4 could actually be louder than the XXX. My gains are set clean using the DD-1 and the -10db Track but at full tilt how quickly do you think it would fry?

With my electrical I could assume the amp is only giving it 5k but still this is something I wanted to try tomorrow has anyone seen an SP4 take 5k for an extended period of time?

Nobody can guarantee an answer to this question.

Will a SP4 handle that amp? Yes

Can you blow a SP4 on that amp? Yes

I have customers who have killed BTLs on 2000 watts while I ran them on IA40.1's at a 1/2 ohm and never had an issue.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I tried this just now with the expected result that the woofer was stinky after a few minutes, but what I didn't expect was that it was actually louder than my SoundStream XXX 18" which I thought was interesting.

Louder how?

What did you determine the db or just louder to the ear

Well this may not be the best indication I know but it did sound louder but the way I could tell was my ears were actually hurting haha, when I first install systems in my car my ears will hurt at first but quickly adjust (yes, this may be a very bad thing) but I played a song I play all the time and on the SP4, it hurt.
