Thanks for the replies guys, and no Ken, the wife does not know how to handle a pistol...but I intend to take her to a class so she can learn.

I really don't think we will have an issue cause we have a 6' tall rod iron fence with locked gates around the whole house and two large dogs so they would have to be pretty brave to make an attempt at the house...but that's what gives me an uneasy feeling :/

Yea I'm thinking the camera deal would be good as well as an alarm system, but I've heard house alarms can be ineffective...so I dunno

I saw a story like this on Facebook.

They get into the vehicle and find personal information like the address. Then they "hit" the victim later on.

Tell the neighborhood!

Install a real camera and dummy camera.

I like the dummy / real camera ideas. Oh and 4x4. Shoot me a PM. I was gonna shoot down to ANT today to hear your ride. Got done with finals early :)

Viper 5901/5902 is a great choice. I think you should focus on home protection as well though. Gonna text you.

Yea home protection is on the list too, the in laws live here too for now and the her dad has a few guns...so for now while they are here, we are protected.

Im with everyone else on protecting your home and car. Now did this happen at your house that you know of? Also do you have a GPS? Some thieves now use your GPS to see where your recent and common stopping locations are in your history to map out where you are likely to be and how far away you are so they can rob you while you are away from home. And if you have a GPS is it password protected or is it like my dads shitty Garmin I bought him where if you type in the pin wrong 4 times it unlocks it for full use?
