meade916
Trying out a few UV lights to see what works. Nanometers are important. If you are going to get your own, you should look into something between 385-410nm. I tried these three: i got these at home depot. They worked but it took about 15 minutes. 13watts, Nanmeters unknown. Results were OK but not favorable enough IMO. Next up 20watt flood bulb. Nanometers 365. Didn't work very good at all. Took about 20 min. Next up, the LED panel. Nanometers, 390 (iirc). This one worked pretty good! It took about 5 minutes. Of course the sun takes about less then a minute but for indoor use, 5 minutes aint bad! i am sure there is even better out there but so far, this seems like a good solution for those cloudy days or when you need light in a dark kick panel! check out http://www.blacklight.com to see the panel i bought as well as other stuff too! 3 All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! sayhuh?
Haha Good shit Steve. Audiofanatic and I kinda went into the light discussion in your original post. All I know, is the 10 dollar reptile bulbs, while they will work, would prob take for ever. 5 Minutes on that black light isn't bad at all! Go big on the nano's or let the sun do it! Now only if I could come up with a project to try this out. Blown

meade916
Have you looked into the wattage/nanometer ratings on tanning bed type bulbs yet? tanning lights don't have the correct wavelength to do the job. Need Bass
Hey Steve, any chance you could try a 520nm laser on this stuff? Lol I know it's a dumb suggestion because you would literally have to take hours to do it, but I just wanna know how fast it would dry the resin in the spot you point the laser, and if you'd be able to essentially write in it with the laser. Just a thought that popped into my head when you said Nanometers are important. Edited May 30, 2013 by Need Bass My Build Log Heros get remembered, but legends never die.
