Box for 3 sundown sa 12s

Recommended Posts

Dimensions- 43.5w 16h 20d can possibly go slightly larger on height and depth

Vehicle- 2007 jeep grand cherokee

Power- soundstream 2600.1d

Subs- 3 sundown sa 12s d4

Tuning- around 34 hz

This is what I came up with but I think the dimensions might need to be a little larger-

Here is a suggestion, check the notes below the pic, now you will probably need to wire to 2.6 ohm so you won't be getting near the power these subs can take:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34 Hz
Vb = 6 ft^3

External Height = 20 in
External Width = 43.25 in
External Depth = 19 in

Port Width = 20 in
Port Height = 3 3/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 43 1/4 x 19

Left & Right Sides = 17 1/2 x 17 3/4

Front & Back = 43 1/4 x 17 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 13 3/4 x 21 1/2
Extension = 1 1/8 x 21 1/2

Port Left Side Assembly:
13 3/4 x 3 3/4
5 5/8 x 3 3/4
Port Right Side Assembly:
13 3/4 x 3 3/4
5 5/8 x 3 3/4

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

Important notes:

- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.

- The port needs 3 3/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.

- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

I was actually planning on wiring it down to .66 (don't know why i put .75 at first) ohms because my amp is stable to .5 ohms I have a 160 amp alt and group 94 batt up front and a group 34 agm batt in the rear. Would this box still work for if the power is increase to the subs. By the way thank for the detailed reply I plan on starting on the box tomorrow.

Yes it will work, as before read the notes below the pic.
