DubNDodge
Installed an SA-12 in one of my old boxes with a Crescendo amp in my coworkers Jeep today And then I got distracted with the camera... what camera? That's the first thing I noticed in that picture, the quality that is. Shallow depth of field. What's in front of the focus plane (what exactly you are focused on) and behind the plane are blurry. You need a larger imager (CCD size in your camera) and a "bright" lens to get the most shallow depth of field. Point and shoots or phones with fixed lenses and tiny sensors can't do that well. These photos can be had with even an entry level SLR camera and stock lens. I'd actually like to know what cam and lens these were shot with as well... EDIT: Haha as you can see the camera is a Nikon D5500. Lens is a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G DX lens. My parents picked up the camera last month, so I've been having fun toying around with it in manual mode. Photography has been something I've wanted to get into for quite a while now; It's just been hard to justify the startup cost. I'm thinking I'd like to get something like the Nikon D7200 towards the end of the year to use with mountain biking, car shows, etc. I played around with the photo of the Audi in lightroom to try to lower the exposure on the hood and windshield. It helped a bit, but I definitely have a lot to learn! damn I didn't realize how much info actually stayed with a picture. but I took a photography class last year, it was cool to learn all the things you can manipulate on the camera to get an awesome picture. Jhunt94
A quote off a Can-am forum I am a member on as well, thought it was funny but true and wanted to share, worth the read. Saw this on another forum, made me laugh, had to post it here. Some of you probably won't find it as funny, but here it is: How many Can-Am forum members Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, just to add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again Making a total of 176 posts Are you another fellow Can Am owner? they're aren't nearly as many on here, as I thought there would be. Krakin
Wish I had thought to take pictures sooner, but this is what different levels of oxidation of copper look like. This took place over about an hour or less in our lab at work. The rock is there to just hold the circuit in place since. Sorry about the focus points, I was doing other stuff at the same time and could really leave other really hot stuff unattended. Quote Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
