2003 Kia Sorento Build log (Pair of Team AA 15's in and playing)

Recommended Posts

Where are you grounding your amp? because I have a 2013 kia sorento and I can't seem to find a ground. I've hooked everything up and get a heartbeat noise from my subwoofer. I can't figure it out.

I'm planing on grounding my amplifiers to the 2nd battery, which is grounded via to the frame, and a negative run from the starter battery.

You are probably getting noise because the newer model Sorentos are a unibody car while I have the first generation Sorento with a truck frame. I don't know much about the new Sorento's, so I really can't help there :/

Just an update, did some few things

First off, bought a voltmeter, and some switches for the coin holder, which I don't have to modify or drill, already a hole behind it to run wire

Also decided to install another fuse holder for the positive run for the 2nd battery

Also installed some better aluminum battery terminals to have a better secure installation for the wires since the stock terminals wasn't 100% secure, though had to use one of my battery terminals for the stock positive connection due to the fuse box, and it couldn't fit on the terminal

And the biggest part of this update, some tweeters that SLAYER1805 sent to me :)
A pair of Ascendant Audio Havoc tweeters, which will go on stock location

Just a small update, went to visit my buddy Dennis at his shop to get metered, and learn my peak before the next show on sunday, and after some testing

These are sealed up in the dash scores
- 139.9 at 35hz
- 140.2 at 40hz
- 140.1 at 45hz

Sealed up I peak at 40hz, driver door open I peak at 44hz

This is the score with the driver door open, in the kick at 44hz
143.0

Also got some more goodies
Got myself a stinger voltmeter cause my current voltmeter is impossible to read in sunlight, and a volt off, so got myself the stinger, and I got myself a good book :)
