Amp Test Tuesday - Rockford Fosgate T800.4 (2006/07) guess the total, win something!

Recommended Posts

Ok, i am going to make an effort to test an amplifier each week, or at least every other week, and post up a video. I know today is only Monday, but i wanted to see if you guys could guess what this amp REALLY did. It's about 6-7 years old.

Rockford Fosgate T800.4 (4channel)
Rated: 200x4, 400x2.

I tested it @ 2ohms (1 ohm bridged). I used a battery bank of 3 xs power XP3000 Batteries for 12.8v, to simulate the car being off..... and 3 D1400 for the 14.5v test, simulating the car on and alternator turning. Both banks are sitting on a 10 amp intellicharger, to keep the batteries fresh in between runs, but they are FAR from a power supply @ 10a, so they don't factor too much, other then in between tests.

Bear in mind, my test bench is FUN but it isn't perfect. It's only 3 batteries in each division. It is good up to about a couple thousand watts IMO before the batteries start becoming a larger deciding factor. That is what the AD-1 is all about though. Your results are ALWAYS going to be affected by the power you are supplying to the amp, that is being tested. It is made to be brought out to the car. The true beauty of the amp dyno is, i actually test this amp in YOUR car (when you pull up) and i tell you if your amp is really putting out the power, with the electrical system YOU provide (aka your car). So this test is fun, but remember, it is based SOLELY off of the power i am able to give it from my bench. So take the results for what they are....

Categories: (tested @ 2ohms bridged on front and rear channels).

Total: front/rear combined

12v @ 1% distortion
12v @ Clipping
12v dynamic RMS @ clipping

14v @ 1% Distortion
14v @ Clipping
14v dynamic RMS @ clipping

any guesses? I will post up the video and results tomorrow, as it will finally be "Tuesday" :D

I want to make this more fun:

add up ALL THE NUMBERS COMBINED from:

Categories:

12v @ 1% distortion = xxxx watts

12v @ Clipping = xxxx watts

12v dynamic RMS @ clipping = xxxx watts

14v @ 1% Distortion = xxxx watts

14v @ Clipping = xxxx watts

14v dynamic RMS @ clipping = xxxx watts

and post up the number....the person who hits the EXACT number, will get an SMD VM-1 Volt Meter OR the new SMD OM-1 Output meter when we release it in a few weeks. (see the meter's below the AD-1 :D)

let the games begin :D

no need for 4 ohm ratings. I just did 2ohms bridged (1 ohm). Oh and put up a total so i don't have to do the math :D

1 guess per person please and NO editing! thanks!

4,862 watts...that how you want it posted?

Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are!

I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating!
