apparently high enough to cause issues, gain at half leads me to think that you only need to turn up the headunit a little amount before they get moving pretty good, unless you have shit preout voltage most amps won't even be turned up to half way if the setup is tuned properly.

Upgrade your electrical before you even think about putting the reconed subs back in on that amp, if not you'll be sending them back in a matter of weeks. Just because your lights weren't dimming doesn't mean shit, get a stout electrical system, a good voltmeter to monitor the voltage and then put the subs back in
