cgallmore
I am building a box for my obsidian 15 subs with the dimensions 30 w 18 d 18h and a 5x5 and 12 in long square port. it gives me 4.02 net volume and tuned to 32. i was supposed to build it a 20d but forgot i had changed it so it threw my original plan off. if i invert the subs i get more air space. would it be best to invert the subs or is it bad to do if you want low frequencies? how do i go about inverting them as well, do i need to do anything special to the subs? CleanSierra
That's not enough port area for those 2 15s. You need more to get them moving properly. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra
And inverting is not going to affect the performance of the subs at all. Sometimes you'll hear motor noise from the sub itself, but it's rare. You don't need to do anything special as far as wiring. If one was inverted, and und other was not, then you'd have to wire the inverted one in reverse, so it was 180 degrees out of phase. If both are inverted, it doesn't make a difference as long as both are wired identically. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. john253a
Myself if the box is only 4cuft Idd seal it up (no port) and run the subs in either direction As you need atleast 5net and 70sq" of port Not 4 and 25 25sq" isn't even enough port for 1 let alone 2(unless its a 5" aero) Just my 2c Side note you could build another box 5-8net with 70-105sq" of port Or only run 1x15 if you really want ported
