These are the recommended maximum fuse ratings for the corresponding wire size. Using a smaller fuse than what's recommended here will be perfectly safe.

The lower the wire gauge, the thicker it is



10 gauge is thinner than 8 gauge

0 gauge is thicker than 4 gauge

And 0000, abbreviated as 4/0, is thicker than 0 gauge. Etc
