Why people not like strapping amps?

Ok so strapping, not strapping. Same shit different day, I do have a question that may have been indirectly answered already:

Electrically it all seems identical, but what about cooling and imp rise?

Are the coils staying cooler since they see a 2ohm load?

Does it help at all with imp rise?

You guys know your stuff. So I have a dual 4 ohm sub that I want to give 2000 or more. My amp is rated 2000 at 1 and 1500 at 2. Strapping and running my coils in parallel will give me 4000 watts. A bit much. What outputs would I use? Positive from one amp and negative from the other?
