A suggestion for finishing, is maybe to tape off the unit itself. then put it back in place, Then use filler to fill the gap in. Some light sanding, and some paint, or finishing of your choice, and I think it would tie in really well. To go a step further, if you did a ring out of mdf or something like that, the shape of the screen, and did a little chamfered edge on it, tie that in and it would really set it off I think. I think the only issue would be the lumps or mounds whatever you wanna call them on the oem panel. You may loose those. Just suggestions. I like it though.
