Sorry if this has been beaten to death over and over. No straight answers have come my way.

1 sub or 2

I have a 2001 ford escort zx2. Small trunk and cabin.

My current setup consists of: Stock alternator, Stock battery with Deep cycle in the trunk. I have the big 3 done with 0 gauge wire.

Sub: 1 SA D2 12

Box: 2ft^3 L port tuned to 35 htz

Amp: Audiopipe APSM 1500d(gains set correctly)

Wired to 1ohm

How much would i gain from adding a second identical amp, second identical sub, and second identical box?

OR which would be better adding the second identical setup or changing entire setup to....

Sub: 1 Sundown x-15 d2

Box: 3.5ft^3 L port tuned to 30 htz

Amp: Something 3000 rms maybe(crunch gp 3000 pro) definately turned down, gains set properly

Wired to 1ohm

250 amp alternator upgrade

Also, I'm looking for SPL, I listen to rap music.

Truth about the 1 vs 2

Opinions on the x-15 setup

Thank You

I'd go for one box with a common chamber for both.

Tune to your liking. Between 32-36hz probably.

Shared chamber box tuned to whatever you want. As far as an amp there are plenty of good quality amps out there...and audiopipe is NOT one of them. If you are on a budget, look into soundquebed/audioque...good amps and pretty affordable.

To make an enclosure for 2 subs just double the internal NET volume of one sub.

For an amp there are plenty of Vendors on here with reliable amps that do advertised power.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

the 2 sa 12s would be louder than the x-15? same amp for either setup(not the audiopipe). also i would need a .5 stable daily amp, what amp?

There are many many more variable than will X be louder than Y.

The two SA's come to 1,200 RMS and the X is 1,250 RMS so They will take about the same power.

The SA's may have a little more cone area than the X.

The list goes on forever back and forth. The main thing it will boil down to is how you design your enclosure and run them from an amp with the electrical to back it up.
