Hey All, new member to the site, long time enthusiast.

I had a question regarding the big 3 upgrade on my car. It's a Lexus is300 and the stock wiring from the alternator and battery power and ground are already pretty beefy (I believe 4 awg). If this is the case, is it worth the trouble to add another wire over the stock runs, and if so, would I want to go with something thicker than 4 awg? The stock alternator is 100 amps, and I have an optima yellow top up front and a rear stinger 600 agm battery. The charging system hovers around 13.5 right now. Thanks for the input!

The thing with electrical is you can never have enough. If you plan on doing the big 3 use 0 gauge if possible.

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

Well this is what you do. You figure out what your needs are, then meet them. If the power you wish to run in your car can run efficiently with 4awg wire, then leave it. If not, and your system you want to install is going to have a bigger current draw than what the stock can handle, then add on.
