Amp Test Tuesday - Lets do a boom box! Sony MHC-GX355

This week, i wanted to try something different. The SMD AD-1 Amp Dyno doesnt just test car amps, it tests ANYTHING with an amp in it. This week, i thought i would try out the shop boom-box and see what kind of power it puts out.

It is rated, in the book, at 150w x 2 @ 10% THD. If you look deeper in the specs, you see it says 80w x 2 @ .07 THD. That is the number i will use. Although the few sites i looked at, all said "300 watts RMS" when advertising it.

anyhow, no contest this week. I will upload the video in the next 30 minutes. Just for fun, what do you guys think it did?

on a side note, i found my Kingdom of Giants CD i lost a while back I usually use my shop SYSTEM (with the 8' towers) so i havent used this in a minute.

80 watts total. I have a similar boom box thing, and it can't drive a pair of Kicker KS components, 4 ohm ones, worth a damn that I put in a buddy's truck. At 4 ohms, my Punch 40x2 killed it in terms of sound level and quality.
