Wicks Posted September 29, 2013 Report Share Posted September 29, 2013 Have a DMM? Check the resistance between the HU chassis and the RCA outside conductor. If it isn't close to zero you may have lost your RCA ground reference (pico fuse). Wicks Posted October 1, 2013 Report Share Posted October 1, 2013 Check the continuity between the HU chassis and the outside conductors of the HU RCA connectors (nothing connected to the HU). If you lost that connection then it could introduce noise into your system which is why it may have gotten better when you grounded them out with your antenna plug. New RCA cables won't help, you need that connection fixed in your HU or you could do the trick where you wrap bare wire around the RCA outside conductors and then run that wire to a short ground connection (HU chassis).
