Krakin
You are going to need to pull the unit as far as I know, unless you got some skinny arms. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. meade916
kinda hard to install a system if you aren't willing to do the work to get to a simple remote wire. I was going to suggest using the ACC wire instead but i didn't want to trouble you to look for that either LOL All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! RXdriver11
If she doesn't want the dash coming apart I think she needs to ask herself if she really wants audio. HHR Ed
The dash goes back together after your done. Unless she doesn't trust that you know what you are doing. Anyway, you can use an ACC or ignition wire that can be found behind the radio, or under the dash. Or if you are using a line output converter, some have a remote that turns on when it senses Audio signal. Some amplifiers have that built in as well. KillaCam
If she doesn't trust you to take it apart should you really be taking it apart? lol And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. rockFord_Expedition
Exactly what are you installing? The remote wire is just a 12 volt signal that tells the amp when to turn on and off. When it has voltage the amp is on, when it doesn't it turns off. There are a whole bunch of ways to do this. All you need is a wire that only has power while the car is running, like several people have already mentioned, the acc wire under the steering column is an option. Another option, although I would not recommend it, would be to run a hot wire with an inline switch. I wouldn't recommend this because she will most likely either forget to turn it on or off when she should. Forgetting to turn it on means she would have no beat and forgetting to turn it off could drain her battery. ham4864
I think either way your gonna have to take something apart. You are a true friend because i would have bailed on that job as soon as she said she don't want you to take the dash apart. Let her read some of the post and she may change her mind. Good luck. 2009 bmw 5 series Head Unit Stock Amplifier-JL Audio JX 360/4 Processor- Audiocontrol LC6
