BassHead1990
I would check for overheating or if there are any shorts in your wiring, if there was a spike that may have popped something in the amplifier. look around for any loose mtals, cuts in the jackets, etc. (2007 Chevy Tahoe LT) Mechman 320A OEM AGM D'Amore Engineering HLC-2 Sig Converter D'Amore Engineering E1500.1 Fi Audio Neo 3.5 12"
ncc74656
as stated in my OP i have a 280A mech man and i know how drained the batteries were before that because they were not drained. when i turned my engine off the voltage was at 13.9V and while driving it did not drop below 13.3. so lets say for the sake of argument that the voltage was falling while driving and that it hit, lets say 12V. at 12V the amp is still not being undervolted as they are rated for use at 12V so this would not damage them so long as they are not being clipped right? nothing, gutted
justin0943
I think kicker amps can only run as low as 2ohm and you said you had you truck off and played about 45min at 1/4 volume it could have got hot as hell and it burnt up some stuff has for parts the resister seems like 1/4 watt 150ohm 1% or 5% tolerance but just in case just take one end off of one next to it with dmm to make sure its near 150ohm and the mosfet you have to take the heat sink off and just look at the other for part number 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/
ncc74656
if there was a short should the fuse not have poped before damaging the amp? nothing, gutted
ncc74656
well the sub is rated for 2ohm but most subs dont sit exactly at there rated ohm load. do you think that 1.8ohm is to low for a kicker amp? nothing, gutted
ncc74656
i will pull some parts off and check it, im waiting on a reply back from kicker warranty to see what there turn around time is. if its 50 bucks to repair then ill go with it but if its 200 then i may try it myself first. seeing as im paying im not sure it would matter if i screw with it first anyway. nothing, gutted

ncc74656
it just started working again... i had it pluged into a PSU while i was measuring voltages and i heard my speaker it was hooked to buzz. i just hooked it to my phone and it was powering a 400W sub... nothing, gutted
CleanSierra
This isn't anything to quit car audio over man. You had a MAX voltage of 12.XX volts with vehicle off. You are running a highly consuming electrical component for 40 minutes. Your voltage had nowhere to go but down, down, down. It's not like you beat on a 600W Sony Xplod amp for 40 minutes, you have a 2500W Kicker amp. I wouldn't feel comfortable running my Fosgate 1000W amp for any length of time with the vehicle off. This is regardless of where the volume setting is, you are using power and not making it. I hope the amp isn't damaged, I'm sorry you had this issue arise. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
