g2shuck
I posted this in the electrical section then decided it might be better here since it is about XS Power batteries. This might seem like a stupid question, but I searched and could not find an answer. How do I figure out what charger I need to keep a battery bank maintained? I will be running 5 XS Power d3100s in my bank so 550 AH. My goal is to be able to charge them all at the same time without having to disconnect any of them. I am worried that the 550 AH might confuse a smart charger into thinking it is a fully charged single battery if that makes since. graham0599
I'd go with their intellicharger. It's designed for their batteries, and everyone has great results with them. HunterJohnson
I also have a question on this topic.... Can I use a ac/dc 13.8V 10amp converter to charge a battery bank? g2shuck
SHould I hook the positive to the D3100 under the hood and the negative to the last D3100 battery in the rear bank to charge all 5 at once properly? Lbox88
People argue over that all the time, most people DGAF and just hook it up to the front battery, that's what I do. Quote UBL | Build Log
g2shuck
IMHO I would think it really would not matter since theya re all connected together I would think you could connect to any of the positive and negatives to charge them all evenly Quote 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build. CJ18
I have 2 hf1415s to charge my 1400s and cut the clamps off and replaced them with ring terminals. I leave them bolted to the buss bars and just plug them in to charge whenever needed.

It really doesn't matter. Just hook the charger to once of the batteries. If all batteries are paralleled, then all batteries will charge. Now if they have different resting voltages, then it will be a process. Over time the batteries will all level out. If one batt sits at 12.8 and one at 12.6, then they'll level out at 12.7. As the charger remains on them, the resting voltages will begin to level out, then eventually raise. A lot of people have xs batts resting at 13.1-13.4 Quote My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678
