revoracing247
If you are using blue caps and only run up to let's say 15.5 volt max then you don't need balancing circuits BUT if you plan on running let's say 17.0 volt on 6 blues per bank then balancing is a must. how do you run 6 caps at 17? dont you need 7 in a bank? i think what he's trying to get at is if you're charging really close to their max voltages where a imbalance in the caps would cause one to go over that voltage then a balancing circuit is a must. but yeah, i would definitely not run 6 at 17V as much as i love the smell of exploding caps.... Bump4life
wish you have tested with the termlab, nice topic! i can guarantee its louder. you are holding a higher voltage and pretty much have as much amperage as you could want on tap. there is no reason batteries would be louder Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. AMI CUSTOMS
Why can't you charge to 17.0 with 6 blues? 2.7 x 6 is 16.2 and 2.8 x 6 is 16.8 so .2 more volt is not gonna hurt a thing. AA98hoe
I use to have blacks an used them with blues .. When I bought blacks in eBay few years back I had 9 out if 12 bad they leaked or didn't charge .. I was always weary of hooking in series to amps because of this .. The way I did it was one pos from batt to amp dual input the other from cap bank to dual input .. Had some amp failures wasn't sure why but found two bad caps on my banks .. Question should grounds come from battery or frame .. I know there's a lot of current going through wires .. How many banks of blues for 20 k I have 4 now which helps with battery's but I know I need more just no room TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz.
