Nao
Same thing just happened to me. It sucks, but your best bet is to cut out the cone, put the screws back in with loctite, and get a drop in recone Did you have the same sub

SnowDrifter
is there anyway u can take the kit out without breaking it? i'm sure there are guys who can do this i use acetone to soften the glue and then chisel and hammer to get it out I've tried loooots of stuff because I was in your same position. Acetone also ruins the glue/shape on the spider. Doesn't do a great job of dissolving CA either. Chiseling it off chips it. Also distorts the spider. Using a solvent such an xylene for the rubber adhesive that holds the surround proved ineffective. I'd be worried about it weakening it too. It's just foam after all. Then there's a matter of getting the dustcap off. Tough to do without either A. cutting it out and destroying the dustcap -- they are THICK too. Cutting it isn't easy. Or B ripping up the laminated layer of the cone with it. In all honesty your best bet is to just cut it out, replace the bolts on the motor (blue loctite this time around), and recone it. Depending on how old the sub is you can also email SoundStream and see if it would be something that's covered under warranty. That being said you'll likely have to ship it to them - not such a bad idea anyway if you are afraid of reconing. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
