Down Draft table

Does anyone have one or use a downdraft table? I really want one and I think I can build one I've just never seen the inside of one.

Are they just hollow or are there baffles or anything inside?

This is a downdraft table in case anyone was wondering: http://www.rockler.com/jet-stand-alone-downdraft-table-with-leg-sets?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=pla&utm_campaign=PL&gclid=CP-C0JeX37oCFUVp7AodkmsA6A

Since its winter and I'm going to be hopefully starting my doors I want something to keep the dust down in my garage. I'll just use my shop vac for now but will eventually get a dust collection.

New build coming........

I have seen a couple make these out of pegboard and they seem to work just as well. Especially when you think about the savings. If memory serves me correctly there is a couple youtube vids on how to make them and just hook your shop vac up. Would be worth the savings!

I made for a friend I used a shop vac and peg board like 79 cutty said. Make sure you use a strong enough shop vac. I use my sawdust collector in my shop. I made a air filter also out of a gable roof fan exhaust and use 20x20 hvac filters to clean the air. The 3m brand filters not the cheap ones.

You will have to post up what you end up coming up with, especially if you go the peg board route.

I did mine with peg board. Worked well for a little bit. The pegboard is just too thin to last.

Make sure you do a V under the table with the collection port at the bottom. It will help create suction all the way out to the edge and allow the dust to fall down into the pit a little easier

When I redo it, I will use these.

Build it like this.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
