Bump4life
Damn have I got some learning to do! Lol. I thought capacitors had their place in car audio. It seems that here in Australia, a lot of people are still stuck on what they are actually used for... 100 farad per 1000w rms! The people that do tell me they work, recommended to me 1 farad per 1000w rms??? So here I am to get schooled!! Lol Now I take it that the 1 farad cap I bought is not the type I want to be using? Or is it? Will it be ok to use for music based system? Appreciate any help you guys can give. Cheers, Jay. we are talking super caps here which have a much larger capacity than your 1 farad cap. make sure it is a true 1 farad cap and the most i could see it helping is slightly on burps. youll still need some electrical behind it to support a large system. 1JZSoarer-ED6Civic
Sorry if I asked in the wrong place. I understood that you were talking supercaps, but I've been under the impression that car audio caps were useless, regardless of size. This is why I've come to this forum, you guys use science to back a claim. I thought the test Steve did back in April with the AD-1 showed a single farad cap helped with the Rockford 2500-1 he was testing in Burst mode, and the supercaps helped on the continuous mode. I'd really appreciate any info, feel like I've been wiring in the dark all this time. Lol
