Little back story... I've wanted to shrink my port down for awhile.. Put it off bc I didn't want to tear it all down or mess up my port paint job. (I was proud of that port paint job lol)

I wanted to get the port down closer to 18cu inches per cubic foot

Sooo... I finally Decided it was time to fix my port, added a 3/4" layer of birch on the inner walls of the port... Long story short, in the process one of the sub leads pulled out of its crimp/terminal, so I had to tear it all down to redo that... Figured while I was at it I would tear it cmoletely down and just finish this damn thing up once and for all!! :) :)

I was having issues with flex in the back wall of box, it wasn't completely/properly sealed off from the trunk, and my terminal placement was horrible!!

Addressing all those issues, as well as 45'd all the corners of the box, and I'm going to resin the inside and outside, as well as body work and repaint.

As well as fab up battery locations, amp cooling system with fans and a 3" bilge blower :)

Here you can see my "port fix".. I did this while the box was still secured and in place in vehicle before the sub pulled out and I tore it all down. I painted it prior to putting in, bc I was initially going to play it for while before tearing completely down. *But everything happens for a reason*

Will be body worked to be a smooth transition when done, almost mini kerf like lol.

Started newer/better foundation for box. This will help me seal it off better, and will make more sense as I make more progress. The spare tire well isn't secured, just placed reference. (And that's my old under hood battery, just put it there for example)

Productive weekend, installed the air lift 1000 kit. Which I was really iffy about, but so far so good. Raised my rear end 1.5-2". Now to see how it holds up and rides.

Also, got some more work done on the box. Added some bracing and added 2 coats of resin to the inside. I also began to body work the front and port.

  • 2 weeks later...

More progress on the trunk and box.

Cut out some wood pieces for the sides, also top and bottom. I used the posts I attached on the side of the box as "studs" (The bare wood pieces will be carpeted when finished)

These pictures are pre deadener and spray foam. That will be my last step for the evening, and then hopefully back at it again tmrw. :)
