Daddy_
Just have a question. Say I get 2 12" and put it in a ported enclosure. What will be the box rise at the final ohm load of 0.5, 1, and 2 ohms? Is it the lower you wire your subs the more box rise you will get or will they be all around the same rise? Could give you give me a rough number of how much. Also those constant power amps that do the same amount of power at all ohms load they do not see box rise right? What will be the box rise at the final ohm load of 0.5, 1, and 2 ohms? Many many factors, of which no one can "calculate". Is it the lower you wire your subs the more box rise you will get or will they be all around the same rise? No. Could give you give me a rough number of how much. This could be off as well, but, a guess, you can multiply your nominal load by 2-3. But everything, even a different song comes into play. Also those constant power amps that do the same amount of power at all ohms load they do not see box rise right? They don't do the "same power at ALL loads". Leo1103
Most JL amps are regulated so that they put out relatively the same power across a range of loads 2002 Honda CR-VAlpine 9887My BuildRebuilding... JesseyMclame
I believe the JLs do the same power from 1.5 - 4. No matter what. Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. The amp will not have box rise, no. The subs impedance will be altered due to box rise. If you wire your subs down to 1 ohm, and it rises to 2, you will still see 1000 watts. But also there's no specific way to tell how much box rise you will have. It all depends on subs, box, what car it's in, and you'll have to put a digital multi meter on it and find out for yourself. Hi-Po 5.0
box rise all depends on the box. but theres not much you can do about it. you can have the exact same setup, have say .75 of rise, then swap boxs, and then have maybe a .96 rise. it varies. 93' Exploder Deck:Pioneer 6400-bt Front Stage: Crescendo PWX 8"s and Skar Audio VX1-ST per door Amps: Sundown Audio SAZ-3500 v1 @.375 ohm daily, CT Sounds 125.2 Subwoofer: Two PSI Platform 2 18"s,Fully Loaded D1.5's Enclosure: B Pillar Fourth Order, 3:1 ratio tuned at 46 (Designed by Low Hertz Box Designs) Wire: All Sky High Car Audio Cable! CleanSierra
Its not called box rise. It's impedance rise you're referring to. No way to estimate either. Like Kyle said, too many factors to consider. Cabin gain, enclosure efficiency, orientation of enclosure in vehicle, efficiency of amp, health of electrical system etc. If you're worried about box rise, get some your downs and strap that bitch down to the floor. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra
If someone were to be able to figure out impedance rise, there would be no need to build different enclosures and text and tweak, tune and tweak. If it were able to be done on paper, people would design one enclosure perfectly to do everything that wanted to, but it can't be done on paper. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
